HELLO!

We are so pleased you have chosen our district for your child’s early learning education. VELC offers a fun and nurturing program where your child will be cared for and encouraged to learn and grow to reach their full potential. We are a centers based program that implements Creative Curriculum. We screen each child within 90 days of enrollment and we continue to assess in social emotional, physical, literacy, language, math, and cognitive objectives through play all year. VELC participates in the Washington State Early Achievers quality improvement program. We are proud to have met all requirements to attain the highest Level 5 Quality Rating from the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF).

We are committed to families and their children. We offer free family resources and parent education trainings throughout the year. We offer parent conferences three times per year to discuss screenings, assessments, and to set family and child goals. We offer home visits and families have access to a family advocate. We firmly believe that families are the first and most important teacher of their child and that working together is the best way to teach children.

We embrace continual improvement and are always eager to learn innovations and best practices for our youngest learners. We encourage families to volunteer and collaborate with us to build an environment where children feel loved and secure. We have a full range of options for enrollment. These options include Transition To Kindergarten, Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP), private pay, and Working Connections Child Care.

We look forward to meeting and working with your children and family!
