Well-trained bus drivers and a dedicated fleet management and maintenance team form the heart of VL Transport Center. Our team ensures that students and other passengers get safely to and from school and have a positive rider experience every day. A great benefit to membership in our rural transporation cooperative is that our drivers are encouraged to get to know their student passengers, greet them by name and take a genuine interest in their well-being.

VL Transport Center employs a certified trainer who trains drivers for Valley, Loon Lake, Evergreen and Summit Valley school districts and, optionally, drivers of the fuel cooperative member districts.
- All school bus drivers must hold a valid driver’s license and valid Washington State school bus driver certificate.
- Obtaining a school bus driver certificate requires approximately forty (40) hours of training from a certified trainer.
- Training includes time behind the wheel of a school bus as well as classroom time.
- All drivers must also maintain valid First Aid/CPR cards and must pass periodic random drug tests as required by law.
