The Valley School District Wellness Program encourages the school community’s shared goal of promoting lifelong nutritious habits and physically active lives.
Whether you are a parent, guardian, student, staff, community member or healthcare professional, you can engage in sharing the good news about the benefits of healthy meals and snacks and encourage participation in recreational activities that get us and our kids moving.
We welcome family and community involvement in developing, implementing and updating our Wellness Program. Help us find new ways to mentor our youth and put healthy-living goals into action. Interested persons are encouraged to participate in our Family Engagement Committee (FEC), which meets monthly. Members of the FEC and interested persons are encouraged to serve on the Wellness Program Committee, a subgroup of the FEC. Annually the group will review the Wellness Program components and recommend changes or focuses for school wellness activities. The FEC meeting agendas and other information may be found on the Family Engagement webpage.
The following district policies and procedures provide the foundation for our Wellness Program, which supports student engagement, activities and instruction on nutrition, health, physical fitness, and related nutritional standards and food services.
